Quite often we get asked: “What does your church have for youth?”
This is a fundamental question that many parents ask long before they decide if their kids will visit. At WPC our youth (middle & high school) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way..
Ascend Student Ministry exists to prepare students to follow Jesus into every area of life. We do this by tailoring the overall vision and discipleship process of WPC to fit Middle & High School students.
Both Jr & Sr high students meet on Sunday nights from 6-8! Some nights we’ll all hang out
together but other times we will combine for
activities then split up for discussion!
Ascend is a place where students in grades
6-12 can come hang out, have fun, and
grow in faith! Our typical night usually starts
with some sort of game or activity and concludes with a time of relevant discussion about faith.
AND of course, at Ascend there is always food!
Ascend: Base Camp takes place Sunday Mornings between the 9 and 10:30 services
in the youth room! Base Camp is a place to
play games, hang out and talk about faith in fellowship time designed just for students!
What will my first visit look like?
Handing your kids off to be cared for by strangers can be a terrifying prospect for parents.
Here's what to expect when visiting youth ministry for the first time: first, when you come in there is a check in station where we will meet your kids, check them into our system, and then one of our students or volunteers will lead them on a quick tour. Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone): parent/guardian name(s), child's name, birth date, home address, phone number, and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children.
